  Veselia

Cultural and Artistic Association "Veselia" was established in 1918 .
There were three sections:

mix choir
theatrical group
folklore group

The first choir conductor was Boaru Iona (Clonea) - a farmer from Glogonj.
He was substituted in 1930-32 -by Vasile Marok (a local shop keeper) – who was the conductor until his death in -1966 god. After the loss of the conductor, the activity of this section was slowly extinguished.
Under Marok's conduction there was significant results / especially in competitions in Pancevo and Kovacica /.

Like a part of Cultural and Artistic Association "Veselia" the band is founded in 1938.
The first instructor was T.Vraneanu from Ritisevo (Ratisor), and the first conductor was V.Marok.
The bands debut was at a local wedding in 1939, and a few wicks later appears on a scene, during the mayor feast of the year - Assumption. From that time every Sunday plays and dances were held, in the auditorium of Raiku Roman ( Birtasu ).
On every assumption plays and dances were held in the yard of Rumanian Orthodox church.
They participated in every wedding, feast, and unfortunately – funerals in the village.

In the first generation members were: Aurel Idvorean (Papuc), Vasa Marianu (Hârtu), Toma Dimitrievic (Strimf), Roman Kristea (Vuc), Nikolae Dan, Djeordje Munceanu, Ion Bradjan, Vasa Boleancu, Valer Subic and of course Vasile Marok.
Serious, systematic work, and talent of those ambitious amateurs highlighted the band in 1942 at the band festivals. When in very strong competitions, our band would take the second place ( the first place band was »Turturica« from Mesic /Mesici/). That success is one of the most important for the Cultural and Artistic Association "Veselia". Members of the band were stimulated for harder work, and were proud to represent themselves in every opportunity they had, on the scenes of all Rumanian villages.
In the autumn of 1944 – the band from Glogonja, together with band from Mesic were mobilized and united.
Two bands were combined into the one bigger, and merged into the I kraiska brigade - V squadron. A few months later a few more musicians joined– so they become very serious band guided by a famous composer of the time - Milan Vlain.

After the liberation /at the end of the WW2/, the band continued to work. There are two younger generations. In the first we mention the next musicians: Vasa Subic (Purecu), Nicolae Idvorean, Traian Stoian & Vasa Besu (Sciau). Marok Vasile is still in charge of this group.
Later Vasa Marianu (Hrcu) & Roman Cristea (Vuc) become the head of the group. A rejuvenated band took part at all the concerts and festivals in Glogonj, Dolovo, Ovca, Jabuka, and festivals organized by Organization of Rumanians from Voivodina. At competitions in Vrsac, Zrenjanin, Pancevo & Dolina - Deliblato they took numerous recognition's & diplomas for quality of the performances.

The next generation only fill in rates. The men of the third generation were: Ion Mandreu (Dicu), Vasa Dimitrievic (Strimf), Ion Minea (Tonea), Viorel Idvorean, Roman Djinu …

Unfortunately in 1959 the band is dim, from the rest of the members a brass-band is organized. The new band fills in with the new young musicians. In a short period, they had a significant amount of activity.

Today we only have a lttle band with very little activity.

Now the oldest members of the brass-band are - Viorel Idvorean, Stojan Trajan, Vasa Dimitrijevic, Ion Mandreu, Cornelie Idvorean, Ionel Subic, Marinel Rodean.

The bands intent is to represent the traditional music of Gogonj, we put the pages wit music. Music is written by Viorel Idvorean (written for a clarinet).
